My bicycle. I love being able to move around town with ease. No traffic and the wind in my hair—nothing better.

There is an owl that sits outside my bedroom window and hoots every evening until the sun goes down. It is my favorite time of day. This owl knows how to pleasantly say goodbye to the day and calm my frazzled nerves. I’ll try to snag a pic of this peaceful creature. Or maybe this is a moment that cannot be documented, a reminder to treasure the beautiful bits of life.
Mmmmmm. Hand-done illustrations hold a special place in my heart. I love the freedom within the genre. There is some sort of connection between your hand and your brain that shows part of your heart. Quirky imagery and hand rendered typography with imperfect line quality are my fave.
I’m constantly trying to improve my illustration skills. Here are some works of beauty that inspired me.

The last one is my desktop background right now. What a charming style.
Until next time. Ciao.

Hello—I’m Sarah. I just moved to Nashville, TN—country music capital of the world. Or at least that’s what I thought.
But there’s a lot more going on out here than Alan Jackson’s dog shooting his brother’s sisters wife after he humped her leg. We’ve got an exact replica of the Parthenon (which I can’t wait to visit!)

We’ve also got Jack White and Third Man Records, which would take any city to a whole new level of COOL-NESS. Third Man is a record store, live music venue, and headquarters for Jack’s label.

Mr. White just introduced the Rolling Record Store. Some of you may have seen it’s debut at SXSW. Apparently his sexy self just busted out his gear and played a little set right on the streets of Austin. I hope I run into him soon. Word on the street is that he frequents the local Pei Wei in Franklin. Looks like I need to eat more lettuce wraps…

Oh and welcome to my new home.

Urban Outfitters. Those of you who know me know I.LOVE.THIS.STORE. Having one in town is ridiculous (good & bad). One way or another Urban will be the death of my pocketbook.
Things I’m looking forward to in the coming week:
1. Warpaint at Mercy Lounge on Tues. This all-chick quartet with whimsical vocals and psychedelic melodies rock my socks. And you can’t beat $10. THANKS NASHY!

2. Magic Veteran (Jon’s band) playing a new-member-debut-show at the Hanger on Fri. They rock. And I’m not just saying that because my bf is the coolest person I know. Legitimately good grooves that get stuck in my head for days. Check em out:

3. Tour de Fun on Sat.
So this has got to be the most awesomest Murfreesboro tradition. (Oh yeah—Murfreesboro. Did I tell you how many R’s are in the town I live in?)
“Tour de Fun is a huge community bike friendly music festival in Murfreesboro, Tennessee that showcases 40 local bands. Tour de Fun will visit 15 different houses throughout Murfreesboro. Each house will be showcasing two or three local bands playing 10 minute sets each and one local artist’s artwork.”

Awesome right? This is gonna be a great week.
Ciao.
